My Adventures In Petit Fours!
on the rare occasion I am let loose in Neils kitchen it is to make petit fours, so last week I went into unknown territory and attempted to make Turkish delight, this seemed really easy in theory, I stole Sarah's lemon jellies in chocolate idea and ran with the ball!
rose water+lemon juice+sugar+water+gelatin+red coloring=Turkish delight..... No!
the first two attempts were nothing more than wishy washy ectoplasm-ish goo, but, not be defeated I tried again and came up with a delicious fragrant jelly. Brilliant.
And so to covering them in chocolate... Easy Peasy.
the next afternoon feeling all smuggy bear in my achievements I decided to try them out on my first customers... And upon opening the box I discovered a box of mutant sweaty dark chocolates... Just a box of damp looking blobs.
Into the bin and back to the drawing board.
