Reviews

Well, we are still getting over the review in food & wine magazine, we had no idea Georgina Campbell was even in the restaurant! and it was me who served her, though I did find it strange that someone had a 3 course lunch ( I'm the only person I know of that can eat that much food when in a restaurant and still want some petit fours) on a Monday afternoon..... there you go, and I almost always know what is happening in our restaurant at all times, much to the great annoyance of the floor staff!
So here I go with the answers to the questions I've been asked about restaurant reviews:
No you don't know when they are coming - thankfully, could you imagine if you were told that some of the most respected food critics in the land where coming to visit, drinks would get spilt, food dropped in laps etc.
No you have no control over what they say - darn!
No they don't seem to be open to bribes - but I might try for the crack one day.
They don't always get it right - I put that down to alcohol.

Back to petit fours, I think all restaurants should serve them and that there should be a national campaign towards this goal.
